We are renewing the genre of barbecue with an authentic and artisanal version. Fatapera is a barbecue from Madagascar. It is a refractory red earthen tank (like the bricks of the same name from our fireplaces) from Madagascar which is then inserted into a galvanized tower fitted with a small hatch. It works with charcoal which is placed in the clay mold and which is lit with paper using the hatch. Small in size, 19 cm high and 24 cm in diameter, it is easy to transport. Two supports in the upper part allow the dish to be placed directly on top, whether it be pans, pots, cast iron casseroles, grill or terracotta dish. And note that the purchase of a fatapera helps to improve the living conditions of three Malagasy families while respecting fair trade. Fatapera, 48 euros, on www.naturetcuisine.com
